Honors World History

"The history of the world in 180 days !"

Ms. Allen's Grading Policy:

Test Grades - 50% ( Includes objective tests, writing tests, essays, projects, and National Geographic summaries

Daily - 20% ( Includes maps, study sheets, charts, and other daily assignments)

Notebook - 10% ( Includes quotes and responses, and notebook activities)

Midterm - 20% ( Includes material covered to the midpoint of the semester)

Final Exam - 25% of final average

Requirements:

Students will be required to participate in all class discussions and assignments, turn in all work on the date that it is due, and pass all tests.

Failure to turn in work on the assigned date will result in a zero if it is a long-term assignment (due by...), even if the absence is due to illness.  If a student knows he/she will be absent on the date an assignment is due, that assignment should be turned in early or delivered to the school.

If a student misses a test due to illness, he/she should be prepared to take the test within five days of returning to school.

Welcome!  Helpful Hints for Succeeding in World History:

*Keep an organized notebook and date your notes.

*Keep a large "at a glance" calendar to write down when projects and other assignments are due, when exams are scheduled, and to record homework assignments.

*Bring your textbook, notebook, and pens and pencils to class daily.
